Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be a Cloverly author to utilize your screenwriting service?
Absolutely not. We can provide our professional script writing service to any author- whether published by us, by another publisher, or not even published at all. If you are unpublished, please contact us so we can discuss some great package options whereby we provide full book publishing services (editing, cover design, typesetting, press release, eBook conversion, print and digital distribution, etc.) as well as screenplay writing services.
I am undecided between having a treatment done or a full-length screenplay. What is suggested?
A full-length screenplay is always more comprehensive and impressive since it will better relate your story to the reader, but treatments are commonly used as well- it is a matter of what your budget permits. If you choose to have a treatment prepared (rather than a full-length screenplay) and later decide to have the full-length screenplay written, we will credit half of the treatment cost towards the screenplay fee since some of the work has already been performed.
How long does the process usually take?
We work hand in hand with you so we rely on timely feedback from your end, but overall it will take us about three months to complete a treatment or short film and roughly 6 months for a full length screenplay.
What share of royalties will Cloverly be entitled to if my book is selected to be a major motion picture?
We are entitled to no cut of your royalties or advances- none at all. We do require that we be given credit at the end of the film for having written the adapted screenplay, but that is all we ask.
Are there payment plans available?
Absolutely. For either package, we permit our clients to put only ½ of the fee down to get started and pay the remaining balance over 10 equal, interest free installments!
